The DUFF - 5/5

Finally a high school movie with female leads that is not trying too hard to be like "Mean Girls." DUFF (which stands for Designated Ugly Fat Friend) tends to provide viewers with something refreshing and modern, filling the void of a good comedic high school motion picture produced by Hollywood since 2010's "Easy A." While exploring more contemporary issues such as body image, cyber bullying and yet covering the usual madness such as proms and popularity, this film offers viewers something more than just a juvenile story (cause unfortunately that's how it was promoted). Fans of the high school genre need to see this film...Chances are you won't be disappointed. Finally kudos to Mae Whitman... Great performance and impeccable comedic timing.
