The Martian - 4.5/5

Being reluctant to watch it at first due to its Sci-Fi content, decided to give it a go by Mitchell who had just read the book. I am SO glad I saw this film as it was brilliant. Whilst being funny and thrilling all together, the storyline, the cast and the directing was pure top notch work. You'd be surprised at how much of the cast you recognise from TV shows and film. Matt Damon brought his A game and really showcased his acting chops (there was also the mandatory Matt Damon bum shot), I won't be suprised if he gets a nomination at next year's Oscars for the Best Actor category. Another awesome aspect..the soundtrack. Okay..in summary..this has got to be one of the best films of the year, even the critics agree...WATCH IT!
