People following movie news would be aware of the backlash received with the casting of Zoe Saldana. To be honest regardless of casting, this film was not a good one to begin with. The script and directing was very poor. Saldana does her best with what she has to work with, even does her own singing but still there is a lot that just not make the mark. It is quite sad that they embarked on this project with such poor quality material to work with given its subject was Nina Simone.This will unfortunately be categorised with other failed biopics like Ashton Kutcher's Steve Jobs movie and Naomi Watts' Diana pic.
