An interesting film this time around, however unlike the original, it lacks class and instead gets CGI and more heart. Kenneth Branagh does what he can with the script, and I guess it's tough to make an Agatha Christie novel engaging and compelling for contemporary cinema-goers. His version of Poirot needed a comical uplift and reduction of emotions. The mystery and the solving of it were excellent, and the direction and setting were great. Branagh is definitely better behind the camera in this project. Michelle Pfeifer (who as always is amazing), Daisy Ridley, Willem Dafoe and Penelope Cruz complete the talented cast, while Dame Judi Dench and Olivia Colman are unfortunately underused. All in all - I enjoyed this remake. It was well done.
